Analysis of the security situation in the European Union for the past 15 years
SKOŘEPA, Matěj
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the changes in security for the EU over the p?ast 15 years from the perspective of de facto deeds, various strata of the population, and experts. The thesis also considers the influence of other states on EU citizens and evaluation of changes in political argumentation. The method of text analysis was used to achieve this goal; looking at the literature of renowned experts, the analysis of European legislation, and the annual reports of EUROPOL. This thesis contributes to the body of knowledge that examines how the attacks of September 11, 2001, have changed the current state of security measures in the EU. The work provides a chronological view of the period under review. The work also views the time since 2001 as a struggle with the external enemy. Through this evaluation, it is revealed that the enemy is not just external but also internal, as seen in the British attack on London in 2005. After 2010, criminals have increased threats to information and technology. At this time the EU is beginning to face its democratic principles and despite simpler ways to repress crime, these are unacceptable because of the EU's strict human rights principles. The principles (human rights) are emphasized in every document; however, criminals do not respect these principles. The evaluation suggests that the terrorist attacks happening today are occuring more frequently on local citizens. The lone wolf, an Islamic state-motivated individual who uses a simple but effective means, such as car bombings, are happening more often. There is a migration crisis that is exploited by populist groups for their own benefit. The misinformation is used to influence EU public opinion. The EU is facing the simultaneous challenges of combating hybrid threats, threat of misinformation, and terrorism. The EU must convince its own citizens that it is not enemy #1; however, that is very difficult as every mistake is exaggerated and emphasized by the enemy.

Czech electricity grid vulnerability analysis
MICHALEC, Jan
Acts of terrorism are used by various individuals, groups and transnational networks to push forward own political views, ideas and ideology on society whilst using multiple forms of violence. Their acts of violence are able to jeopardize and endanger health and safety of peoples, environment and the vitality of critical infrastructure as well. Nowadays the most spelled threat comes from so called foreign fighters whose destabilized and war-torn countries of origin are located in Northern Africa and Middle East. In combination with inefficient management of illegal migration phenomenon and unsatisfactory EU policies on that matter the problem becomes even more amplified. Schengen Area provides EU-members with non-restrictive border regime which fosters migration and trade by a great deal but on the other hand it creates an enormous security risk in terms of terrorism and its prevention. For that matter there should be much more emphasis added to the management of EU outside borders. The second most problematic issue are the matters of radicalization of individuals and minority groups in the EU. There might be a causal relationship between growing rates of frustration between peoples and social marginalization of noted societal groups which might be caused by unsatisfactory assimilation policies of respective EU member states. The goal of this given thesis was to analyze risks to Czech electrical grid which might be posed by an act of terrorism. The analysis was done by breaking down the electrical grid safety measures into respective sectors and parts. Risk for each particular category were analyzed and final risk assessment whilst using help of security professionals. A questionnaire method was used to complete this particular task. The questionnaire dataset was later used to identification of most vulnerable weak-points in the electricity transmission system of the Czech Republic in respect to acts of terrorism. This diploma thesis might be used as a blueprint for improvements in the security management of the Czech electricity transmission system and for educatory purposes at the University of South Bohemia, at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences.

BOŠIAK, David
Abstract I have chosen the topic of my bachelor thesis about parts of joint rescue system at intervention on an emergency incident with occurence of biological agens because terorism has become an essential phenomenon of today. It has an international character and occurs practically everywhere. The forms and methods of terorism are kept changing and nobody is protected against it suficciently. It usually brings huge human and material loss and fight against terorism is very difficult. Unfortunately, there also exist countries with govermentś encouragement of terorism. Biological terorism uses as an instrument of violence biological agens. While terorist using of B-agens we can consider the direct use of toxic chemicals or the attack on a facility where these chemicals are stored or produced. We can consider many ways of application while specific using of toxic chemicals which are described in my bachelor thesis. I ´ve also aimed at problems of B-agens. The aim of my thesis is activity of JRS as a whole in case of emergency with occurence of the above mentioned B-agens. I tried to find out not only the technical readiness but also the professional one of the single parts of JRS. I also aimed at legislation for activity of JRS in case of emergency. In my opinion, the parts of JRS are up to the professional level in the Czech Republic. Especially fire brigade has available professional trained stuff for the branch of B-agens and there are detailed elaborated processes of the single parts of JRS in case of emergency. Material utilities of the fire brigade in case of emergency with occurence of B-agens are on the professional level too. The Rescue Medical Service has also available very good trained stuff, so called BIOHAZARD teams today. The Ministery of Health organizes special trainings of BIOHAZARD teams with participation of foreign B-agens specialists. My theses deals with activity of single parts of JRS in case of emergency with occurence of B-agens.
